Election Day (and I'm Out of Town)!

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is Election Day and if you never quite found the energy to go early vote, you need to get off your keister and go figure out where your polling place is. I know it may seem like we all enjoy griping about some of the elected officials we have now, but I think we lose our ground to complain if we don't go try to change things by voting.

That's about all I have left to say about that topic, other than, "Go Vote, dammit!"

On a side note, I'm in trial out of county this week, so I won't have time to do any type of post-election recap on the blog tomorrow night.

Y'all feel free to use the comments as a sounding board on the tragedies and triumphs that I'm sure will have occurred by this time tomorrow.

Don't say anything I wouldn't say . . .

Very proud to have helped Marc Brown and Don Smyth. Hope everyone voting in the Republican Primary will vote for them. Very qualified.

Get your friends and family and go vote. Don and Marc need your help or we will end up with two completely unqualified people on the bench. Let's be celebrating not crying tomorrow.

What a week! I can't tell you how proud I am of my precinct. I want to thank all for the input I rec'd from this blog. I believe it made a difference in the court 13 race at a minimum.

More importantly, the Republicans made a huge statement- Democrats don't have a chance. The numbers don't lie.

Cheers to all the winner and cheers to those who voted and volunteered.

APC:

I am blaming you for the Dexter victory. That Court will never be the same. Why did Cary Hart get stomped? You don't appear to have much pull.

Natalie Fleming is a solid candidate and has been with the party for a long time. Her husband was the former County Attorney. She has name recognition because of that.

in 2006, with nothing in either primary to bring out voters, the R's outvoted the D's 2.85 to 1, in their respective primaries.

In 2010, you would expect that if the R's had turned around their losses from 2008, they would exceed that previous number in their primary voting due to the excitement of the fiercely contested governor's race on the R side with nothing on the D side to get the vote out.

Instead, you see the gap has narrowed considerably to 1.58 to 1.

And Bill White has not spent a dime in Harris yet...look out GOP....

Once again, APC, long time party affiliation and name recognition over most qualified. What a joke!!!

Marc Brown will win the runoff. Dexter's campaign took an all too familiar turn for the worse late and it is my mission to see his way to the door. And by the way people, the runoff is controlled by people exactly like me. You people blog and bitch but party loyalist vote in a runoff.

After analyzing the numbers, I believe that this blog single handedly took Don Smyth over the top. Don was such a pleasure to meet and he is the kind of guy we need for judge. Palmer would have had my endorsement but for this blog. If you look at the difference in votes, my precinct alone could make that number. And no, I don't believe everyone follows my lead but most do.

I also told you all earlier there was a rift in the Palmer camp, that couldn't have helped.

I understand that the DAs are upset about Fleming. She is going to be a good judge. She does have experience and is a good person. I met her and liked her. I talked to others who have been in front of her and had nothing but good things to say. On top of that, she has name recognition from her husband who is very well respected by many- Radack for starters. I am not going to debate about who is better because I heard nothing but good things about Licata? and Hart.

APC I am holding you to your comment. Marc Brown is clearly the most qualified candidate but the fact that Dexter could even garner as much support as he has does not reflect well on the Republican Party. You need to take control back from Hotze, Lowry and Polland. I was shocked and then impressed you changed your mind in the Smyth Palmer race. I invited you to meet Don at his campaign kick off and I am glad you did meet him at a different function. Meet Marc Brown and then work hard to nominate him. Contact every PC you know and tell them about Marc.
