For those of you who don't get the Houston Chronicle, there is a fantastic article this morning on Alicia O'Neill. It talks about her childhood and being friends with Jessica Cain and the work she does now with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
If you haven't read it yet, check it out. As always, Alicia continues to make everybody proud of her.
Great job, Alicia!

I didn't know this about her.
I have always enjoyed working with her. She's just a really nice, fair, hard-working, and dedicated prosecutor.
Keep up the great work, Alicia!
I bet ol' Black Ink is cringing in his hole at the thought that Lykos is at least in part responsible for this exoneration. Sounds like the Post-Conviction group is doing the right thing--weeding out the liars, and finding some of the ones who truly were wrongfully convicted. The "he probably needed to be in jail anyway" peanut gallery is also pretty quiet.
Rage
Rage,
I was actually going to try to suppress my gag reflex at all the B.S. comments that Lykos made for the article. Alicia and Baldwin were already working on those reviews before Lykos took over.
And I'm sure that (with the exception of their executive leadership committee), most of the ADAs would decline Lykos' offer to wrap her arms around them.
The ground-breaking unit was established by District Attorney Pat Lykos after she was elected in 2008.
And for her next trick, she, Bridgewater, Chow and Rachel Palmer will invent the internet, sliced bread, air conditioning and velcro...
I recall post conviction writs in place LONG before that wretch started ruining our office!
WHERE IS 2012???
WHERE IS MIKE ANDERSON?
WHERE IS HOPE FOR HARRIS COUNTY?
I do not know Mrs. O'Neill, and my post is in no wise intended to discredit her valuable work in the Green matter. I do know Baldwin Chin though - he is a hardworking, conscientous attorney. I have no doubt that any of the accolades attributable to Mrs. O'Neill are likewise attributable to Baldwin, as her supervisor, vis-a-vis the Green matter. What distresss me, however, is that there were numerous instances during the "Holmes era" wherein from the hard work of Wilson, Hardaway, and Chin, among others, (but not from a psuedo division created ostensibly to mirror that of the putative Dallas County D.A.) several individuals convicted of serious crimes were either pardoned, commuted, or outright exonerated based upon investigations by the HCDA office. No pat on the back was ever solicited, nor offered or was due. The fact the system failed those indiduals was not a time to gloat nor advance an agenda. Thus, the only difference in those cases, however, and in the cases now trumpeted by the Lykos office (and its arguably incestuous relationship with the Innocence Project) is that the Houston Comical no longer has its "whipping boy", and wherein it previously ignored those results, it can now and does glorify in the apparent machinations of its lapdog, all the while in support of what could arguably be described as a "left wing pinko agenda" (one merely need look to the dribble of its purported elites on its so-called editorial page) wailing against an evil, subversive, and conservative empire.

Oh man, I hooked the wrong fish...
Rage
Well, Rage, you are a master . . .
Nah, nevermind. Too easy.
That's right ladies, I'm easy.
Rage
Oh boy, here we go.
Aah Calvin, how I miss your stunningly astute arguments and your ability to cut straight to the point. All the more relevant because nobody can "claim" you were tainted by the idiot Rosenthal. While he continues to blame "the Republican party", please continue to lambast all who deserve it for the disaster that is now the Harris County D.A.'s office.
"Lykos is at least in part responsible for this exoneration"......to the same extent Al Gore is responsible for inventing the internet.
Baldwin Chin and company are doing the exact same work they did before Pat Lykos rode into town.........the only difference today, as Calvin aptly pointed out, is that Lykos seeks publicity for it.
I wonder if Lykos still has that autographed picture of Obama accepting the Nobel Peace Prize?
As the Duke once said:
"Life is hard. It's even harder when you're stupid".
Many things come to mind when describing Rage but ladies' man will never be one of them.
Eeeeeew can you imagine?
