New Blog Post on Chronicle Website

I just published my recommendations for the races affecting the Harris County Criminal Justice System on my Chronicle blog.  You can get there by clicking here.

I encourage you to comment with your insights into the candidates, but please try to keep the comments a little tamer over there.

Without using your link, I couldn't find a way to get to your recommendations by just going to the Chronicle. Not sure how helpful that might be to the public. Too bad.

Good recommendations. Several of the opponents of the people you endorse would be disastrous.

Searching on the Chronicle sight by the different candidates' names did not link to your article. Can you get that fixed? We need to get this word out.

Guys, to find Murray's blog and others just go to the main page of the Chron. About 1/2 way down is a "Blogs" section. In the bottom right hand corner of that section is a dropdown box that has all of the blogs on the Chron listed in it. Murray's is "Criminal Background".

This is off topic - Can anyone tell me how ethical it is for RP to have an outside business?

Wait a second, does that mean that the blog Hooper is running where he bashes judges and prosecutors and everyone else is actually owned by Rachel????

These are good suggestions. Please, all HBA members (this includes ALL DAs!), turn in your bar poll!!!

Rachel has 2 DBAs (HCCJ & Life at the HCCJC) so she not only owns the Blog where Hooper bashes the judges & prosecutors but she also owns your blog where you discredit Lykos and the gang who can't shoot straight. It is amazing that someone who had nothing to say is now talking out of BOTh sides of her mouth!

Murray, you strongly endorse Kristen Guinea over Lana. No brainer there. But, I have been told that Kristen Guinea has previously voted almost exlusively in Democratic primaries. While I believe that there should not be partisan politics in the judiciary, as it stands there is. Has anyone asked Kristin, why the switch from Democrat to Republican or has she addressed this issue?

I passed the chronicle blog link on to my pastor who will send it out to 700 church members so they can better understand the candidates, he thought it was a great idea since we don't usually have any idea who any of those names on the ballot are.

If that's really her, then she may be trying to limit you by claiming you are using her trademark or D/B/A.

You were using it first so it seems like a long shot.

Anon 10:56,

Your information is incorrect. Neither Kristin Guiney, nor her husband have ever voted in a Democratic primary.

What if you were to rename this blog? Any suggestions on what it could be called?

Anon 2:45,

Probably something shorter.

Be nice to know the name of the church. That way I could let the IRS know to revoke their tax exempt status for political activity.

Some pastors are dumber than a bag of hammers.

Not to say that you made the wrong call in endorsing Fertitta over Oliver, but I think the last sentence that you used there is a little unfair, especially when you could have addressed that when Oliver was on your show. I think the point about boxing lessons was that in some, but not all of these cases, an arrest and prosecution aren't the best to way to handle the situation, but can cause more problems. Whether you agree or not, it's a valid point to make and your comment swept past that.
