Thanks to the Houston Press

Many kudos to John Lomax of the Houston Press for writing something that the Houston Chronicle doesn't have the courage to with this article.

Sounds like they were taking more of a shot at the Chron than at Lykos.

I wouldn't put too much hope in a reporter that mis-spells Lykos half the time.

Wow Murray. With such sweet talk about the DA it sounds like you are angling to get your old job back! You silver tongued devil you!

The Houston Press has more integrity than the Houston Chronical.....who'd have ever thought.
Kudos to the new Houston Gold Standard for journalism. I'm cancelling my Chronicle subscription in the morning.

I agree, Rage. The Chron and the Press get along about as well as you and Arthur.

I guess that Hair Balls post is a step up from Connelly's obsession with conservative talkers on KTRH, but I don't see how that post is any sort of improvement over what I read regularly from you, Bennett, and commenters on your respective blogs.

Hey Kevin,
It may be the same material, but I'm willing to bet its got a lot more readership than my blog or Bennett's. That's why I'm glad it's out there.

At least the Press is somewhat informative. Hopefully Seaton will be some day too.

I'm starting to think that if you could channel the sexual tension between Rage and Arthur Seaton that you could light up Harris County for three weeks.

Arthur Seaton said...

Don't confuse sexual tension with a hatred for civil lawyer know it alls who are gigantic assholes, please. There's a difference--now sexual tension between me and Lo Lo, maybe.

"LoLo?" Is Seaton talking about Lykos? That would explain a lot.

It’s nice to see a bit of what’s going on at the D.A.’s Office in the press, but when is the whole story going to make it out there? It’s been one mistake after another. Pat Lykos is full of FAIL.

As if the job of a prosecutor isn’t hard enough, confronting criminals in open court, some being the absolute scum of the Earth, being overworked, missing time with family, making less money than attorneys in the private sector, etc. All the while making those sacrifices because you care about what you do. To then face political firings, nepotism, lack of leadership, a budget debacle, lack of resources, gross disorganization, orders to make decisions based on politics instead of the law, and the threat of ending up on the front page of the Houston Chronicle because you got the wrong ruling? Insanity. Why should the office be held hostage on the whims of a mercurial old lady who obviously isn’t taking her hormone replacement? It’s a disaster.

This isn’t only an issue for prosecutors. Taxpayers should be dismayed. Anyone who cares at all about the justice system should be outraged. I want people to know what’s going on dammit. I guess it’s safe to assume that the Houston Chronicle wouldn’t publish an adequate op/ed piece on the matter. What about a full page ad calling Lykos out and demanding her resignation? What does something like that cost? Maybe we should start a fund or something.

ANON 1:13,
What a phenomenal idea.
I will pledge $500.00 to seed the fund if Murray agrees to:
1. be the fund's treasurer,
2. draft the Op Ed piece
3. keep all HCDA employee donor contributions confidential.

We also need a legitimate proven candidate Murray can introduce in the statement. Who can forget how Lykos and Leitner degraded Kelly Siegler and our office as a culture of corruption. Now it's their turn at public humiliation....only we'll have truth on our side.

Posting the Houston News article next to the "Homopolice" photo array didn't do anything for the credibility of the article.
