Want to see something funny?

When a person comments in on this blog, Life at the Harris County Criminal Justice Center, they can be as anonymous as they want to be.  I don't require an e-mail address or a verified identity before you can say what you want to say.  On the Chronicle Blog, however, I don't have a say in what information must be left by commenters.  When they leave a comment, they must attach an e-mail address.  It also will show their IP address to me.

As you all know, I will publish comments that I don't agree with and even those that are criticizing me.  I think that is only fair.  And, often, funny.

But I was pretty amused when I got this comment on the Chronicle blog yesterday.

Obviously, I don't agree with it and the spelling and grammar are atrocious, but I published old TJ's comment, anyway.  Note, the e-mail address, IP address, and the time.

So, I thought it was even funnier when I got this next post (which I didn't publish).

Again, note the e-mail address and IP address.  Looks like old TJ is having a bit of an identity crisis.  But, I suppose it is good that his two personalities agree, at least.  As a matter of fact, he agrees with himself so much that he came back a third time.

What cracks me up the most is that if he had posted his comments on this blog, I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference.  Whoever this mental midget is went to the one place where I could tell he was double posting under two different names.

See what I have to deal with here, people?!?!

Pretty amusing! Murray - your label indicates you suspect Hooper is "TJ" and his alter ego "Watcher". According to Big Jolly you must be wrong because he said that "he (Hooper) has not been (a) wacko or (b) disturbed or (c) looney or (d) anything but friendly.". Since the poster is (e) all of the above - it can not be Hooper!

Murray, when you have time go back and check the history of some of the people who have been Houston Chief of Police,Sheriff, and those that were elected District Attorney. There have been major scandals in Houston history. All the things going on now are really nothing new. Some very interesting things. The man who does the chronicle blog on Houston history may point you in the right direction. I believe you will be surprised at what some of those people did.,

We really appreciate you Murray. Some of us have jobs that don't afford us the right to free speech and your blog give us an avenue to state our opinions on issues.

NEWS FROM THE BUNKER:

Item: Attempts by six to land Palmer a new job at either the Feds or the County Attorney failed.

Item: Palmer reassigned to Appellate, not media relations.

Item: Leader breathing easier now that Palmer not compelled to testify and Big Jolly piece published.

Item: Leader was here this week holed up in the throne room.

Item: No semi-annual evaluations due at this time. All evaluations postponed until July.

Item: All Tuesday staff meetings cancelled until after primary. Six determined to shut down posts such as this one. No one is trusted.

Item: My name is Legion for we are many.

End of line.

Do you feel Randy? said...

Thanks for sharing, Murray. Hillarious!!

The reverse email/name lookup was quite easy.

What a douche!

Maybe Big Jolly will look at this and start to realize Hooper for what he is.

It's great that the chron poster can't spell and appears not to know a synonym for "smut".

I got a 51 year-old dude named Randy. You?

News @ 4:49 - I'm shocked the County Attorney wouldn't take Palmer. Don Hooper once said he lives next door to Vince Ryan - so a phone call (or shout over the fence) should have secured his wife a job.

Re: Don Hooper living next door to Vince Ryan-
Per HCAD records, there is no Don Hooper or Rachel Palmer owning property next door to Vince Ryan. However, can someone tell me how Vince has managed to get his 3041 square feet residence valued at only $99K for tax purposes? Seems like being County Attorney has its perks. That's only $33 per square foot. Granted, the land value is much higher, but how can you justify a value of only $33 per square foot of improvement?

99K is too much. Any house in his neighborhood built before 1990 will be torn down if it doesn't have a 2nd story. The true value of his house & all similar 1950s houses in the area is 0 because the lot will be sold for a new 5000 sq foot home

2:35-
Ryan's house shows it was remodeled in 1992. Additionally, none of the houses built in 1950 in the area were 3000 square feet so it had to have been added on to. I suspect it is a pretty nice house worth more than $99K.

So Murray, if Anderson is elected, do you hope to go back to work at the DA's office as was suggested? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hey Scott,

Happy New Year!

I would be hard pressed to go back to the public sector after being my own boss for three years. I highly respect and like Mike Anderson and he is the type of leader that I would work for gladly. I feel the exact same way about Alex Bunin with the PD's office.

I would never say never, but I really like my life now. The hours, the pay, and the independence is much better on this side. I also like helping people.

There are plenty of days that I wake up and read about a case in the paper and think "Man, I'd like to prosecute that guy", but there would have to be a lot of things that changed in my life that would allow me to go back to prosecuting.

Hope you are doing well.

Murray
