Okay, so apparently the offense report regarding Rachel Palmer's fiancee, Don Hooper, and Rachel's badge is out and about, now. The question now becomes is the media going to ask Lykos and crew why something wasn't done about Hooper and/or Palmer following the incident. Is it because Hooper is a big Republican backer and buddy of Lykos?
I'm hoping that one of the journalists (hint, hint Brian Rogers) is going to step up with the story and not follow in the footsteps of journalistic hack Alan Bernstein who hid from the Pat Lykos yarmulke story like a scared kitten for months and months.
At least we can't blame Bernstein for not doing this story -- he finally stepped down from pretending to be a journalist so that he could go work for the HCSO as Chief Apologist.

Brian Rogers is looking into this. He doesn't have access to the information by just pulling it up on the computer. It requires a PIA request. Now whether or not the higher ups decide to print the article he writes may be another story.
What is it that Palmer or her boyfriend ?
Brian Rogers is so similar to Alan Bernetein that I suspect he might be his illigitimate son.
Besides, the Chron isn't usually inclined to print a negative Lykos story.
I would agree with the comment about the Chronicle not printing anything negative about Lykos. I would go one step farther and suggest that she has probably already contacted Brian Rogers (or his superiors) and got the matter quashed from ever being printed...
I just read the report on Friday. It is pretty damn suspicious how how this never got past the second floor, when you read what took place. My guess is that Rachel kicked Don's ASS after that night, knowing that damage control was not far off. But then Senorita Lykos comes to her rescue!!! Fair? Impartial? Even Tempered? Surely, you jest Mrs. Don (rehab bound) Hooper!!
What are you alleging Don/Rachel did? You have strongly implied that they did something wrong which was covered up, but not stated what the heck they actually did. From your post on the race, it is clear you have a disdain for Rachel, so please just provide the facts (not your conjecture) of situation and allow others to come to logical conclusion.
Accusing DA Lykos of covering things up are serious charges, hope you are confident in such claims.
How is this not news?
If the Chronicle won't pick this up - suggest someone forward the incident report to other media outlets including local newspapers - (e.g. The Village News). This follows a road rage incident that Hooper had in West U (for which he was arrested, but charges eventually dismissed due to the work of a good attorney)...details can be found in criminal case #103818401010 and civil case #2006-76685. Document No. 40780234 in the civil case makes for some good reading...along with the other docs from the case (available online at http://www.hcdistrictclerk.com/eDocs/Public/Search.aspx?Tab=tabCriminal)
Equally interesting reading are documents available on line regarding Hooper's divorce.
Can someone explain if there was a an alleged cover-up involving the road rage incident or if there is something more recent involving Palmer and/or Hooper?? I'm a little confused.
Anon 5:16,
How does one who is not a legal eagle find these documents online about the Hooper divorce?
Give up on the Houston Comical. Their "editors" have contacted reporters who did negative stories on Lykos and tried to dissuade them from proceeding. The stories ran anyway, but what a disgrace to journalistic integrity that newspaper is. I don't even read their website anymore.
I guess the issue has been "put to rest" ... Makes you wonder why some get away with bad conduct and others get slammed for beign who they are, popular or not.
At any rate, thank you Murray... for providing a forum to disucuss issues that affect our life at the Harris county CJC that not everyone would otherwise be informed of.
