I'm sure by now that you have learned that Harris County District Attorney Mike Anderson announced today that he is battling cancer.
I don't know any more than what is being reported in the newspaper or television. No specifics have been released.
My thoughts and prayers are with Mike, Devon and their family.
We are all praying for you and wish you a speedy recovery.

Our prayers are with you, Devon and your entire family. You are a fighter so we know you will win.
Thankfully, we have access to the Texas Medical Center and some of the best doctors in the world. Cancer is not a death sentence. It is a speed bump. Godspeed Mike!
Ditto to all above!

For those of you out there who are whispering not too softly that Mike Anderson somehow was Nixonian in his election for DA, "At this point what difference does it make?"
Any sense of decency would lend prayers and support for a man who is gravely ill and compassion to a wife and two young children who are grief struck.
amen to anon 5:05!!
an absent mike anderson is still light years better than a present pat lykos. at least there is a competent first assistant. seriously: who cares when he got cancer? the fact is that he's dealing with it, and - unless you got a time machine hiding somewhere - he's not going to get unelected, so let's move on.
light, hope, and peace to mike & his family.
My prayers go out to Mike and his family. On another note Murray I think I saw my first case where the HCDA is scared to go forward on a case. I think Chip has the HCDA OFFICE ON THE RUN. Def Victor Trevino and Chip have the 351st court totally confused where the judge looks confused about this case. You have any thoughts on this case
Someone is worried about when Mike knew he had cancer? Seriously? Grow up! What idiot thought to question that?
If Mike knew about this earlier than thought, his willingness to stay the course was a greater sacrifice for the sake of the office than we thought. He saved us from Pat Lykos! We owe him more than support and prayers at this point in time.
5:51 PM is absolutely right. He saved the HCDA and the citizens of Harris County from Pat Lykos and then from Lloyd Oliver. One was a disaster and the other would have been a disaster if he'd gotten the chance. If Mike knew he had cancer during any of that time, his sacrificing in order to continue campaigning makes him a huge hero in my book.
551 and 732--you two idiots are clearly insane. If Mike knew he had cancer during the campaign and sacrificed time with his wife and kids because of the damn DA office than he is stupider than you. Fortunately, that's not the case, and you two goobers can come up with theories instead of using cxommon sense.
Mike's a man, and a good man. Let's just leave at that and hope good things for him and his family.
2:14 If anyone is insane it would be you for thinking you could know what someone else deems important. I have no doubt Mike puts his family above the D.A.'s Office but that doesn't preclude him or any reasonable brave person from taking care of both after discussions with his family. But more importantly there is no indication as to when he found out he had cancer and what the prognosis was when he found out. Either way he is one brave son of a gun for pushing through this while taking care of his family and doing what he can for the D.A.'s Office.
Godspeed. It's a battle that can be won. Mike, I'm cheering you on!
