The Latest from the Lame Duck Administration

Well, it looks like things have settled down somewhat over on the 6th Floor in the aftermath of the Republican Primary.   Despite initial concerns of mass retaliatory firings by the Administration, Lykos seemed to have been content to just loudly blame all of her underlings for losing the election.

I was surprised to learn that Lana Shadwick made her return to the Office yesterday after her leave of absence to run for Judge.  Her position in Grand Jury had (mercifully) been filled by someone who actually knew what she was doing.  Hopefully, this will cut down on Shadwick getting defendants indicted who were already on deferred adjudication and help the County avoid a lawsuit for unlawful arrest.

Lana being replaced in her Grand Jury slot, however, begs the question of "Where do we put her now?"

Apparently she is officing on the 6th Floor with an ambiguous job description.

Lykos is appearing in front of the Commissioners' Court today for some ambiguous reason.  I've never been a big Commissioners' Court watcher, but I've heard that she is approaching under Item 2C regarding the budget.

I've heard it from multiple sources that her goal is to lower the maximum pay for certain high level positions within the office.  I'm not sure what her reasoning is for that, but it appears strange to me.

Maybe she did her own merit review of her Executive Leadership Committee and decided that they weren't earning their keep.

Maybe she needs room in the budget for Lana's room and board.

Maybe she needs it to pay for the Grand Jury "investigator" (which is the equivalent of a paperboy having an intern.)

Maybe she's trying to show the Commissioners how fiscally responsible she is so that they will find a reason to put her name on a new Independent Crime Lab.

We shall see.

You cut certain max salaries. You put "traitors" in those pay slots reducing their salaries. You justify it with a performance review saying their performance fails to meet expectations. Anderson comes in and seeks to restore those maximums he is fiscally irresponsible. Further when he seeks to restore formally cut salaries it is viewed as cronyism, since the most recent performance evaluations under the Lykos administration for those individuals was poor. Lykos lacks the level of intelligence required to come up with this. She definitely is vindictive enough to carry it out. Of course maybe she does not want to cut maximums. Maybe she wants another first class ticket in addition to the one that primary voters gave her. All we can do is wait and see.

Does it really matter what the dumb bitch and her leadership team has on the agenda. It will be based on some obscure notion that they know better than the previous administration.

Anderson will be back in front of commissioners court undoing the ignorance of this administration. Go hide under a rock Leadership Team. Everythg you have done was out of ignorance and lack of foresight.

Maybe the whore went to provide the services she promised to Cagle, Raddack and Emmett in exchange for their worthless endorsements!

The agenda item passed today at the Court. Now Anderson has to go and beg Commissioners Court for more money to repair the damage. Thanks, Patsy. You have really displayed a lot of class with this act. Now all of Harris County has confirmation that they did the right thing by ridding themselves of a DA that has shown her rear-end time and again.

Good Riddance to you, RAP, Jimmy, Hannah, Roger, Lana and the "brand".

I have read today's agenda and can't find mention of this. Have you seen the agenda.

What does it say?

What a vindictive bitch! She had to have one last parting shot.

Has anyone seen a memo with moves?

The agenda item dealt with a grant . Relax.

The rumors are flying about Pat's retributive moves memo that is supposed to come out. News from the Bunker - you seem to know what's going on. What's the deal?

This administration was lame when it took over the DA's office and thank God it is now a lame duck administration.

RE: the investigator in grand jury:
Leon is probably helping Carl with his door-watching duties.

He's not capable of doing much else so at least they finally matched his skills to his assignment.

Sure hope he can get back on at the County Attorney's Office otherwise, on Jan 1st, he'll be out of job.

He also has several friends in the office. Be careful of them also.

Just indict Lykos already!

Can anyone update us on what The Duck is up to this week?

Any word on moves and promotions?

Just enjoy watching the Leadership Team walking around trying to mend fences withe their quacking. No honor in that!

Instead of walking around quacking like a lame duck, how about doing the turkey walk out the door and resign. Just think about it: Each of you should remember how you made the employees walk out four years ago when you came in.

Now if you resigned soon, you won't have to wait around with that false sense of optimism of being kept around. That means you Joni V. Just think back four years ago when you purposely went on vacation the week before Lykos took office.

How you hid from having to face the people you stabbed in the back to be promoted. Don't worry. We will look you straight in the eye. What goes around comes around.

Shadwick wasn't on the new moves memo. Where is she officially assigned? Is she making $100k/yr to literally do nothing?

Anon 7:18 am, yes that is correct. Fiscal responsiblity at its best.

Maybe Lana is in training to take Barnhill's place.

Moved Chow admin assistant to check fraud. Hiding her with her high salary so next administration will keep her and the salary

Ray Hunt, the President of the HPOU, published an article in the HPOU Badge and Gun regarding the defeat of Pat Lykos in the May 29th Republican Primary election. He thanks all the past and current staff of HCDA who worked so hard to defeat Lykos and give Mike Anderson the opportunity to bring honor, integrity, and competent management back to HCDA. Everyone who worked so hard to boot Lykos out of office deserves recognition, especially Mike Anderson for the sacrifice of his time and effort and willingness to rescue the office from further mismanagement. Thanks also to Ray Hunt, HPD, and the other Harris County Law Enforcement agencies who had the fortitude to issue a No-Confidence Vote for Lykos late last year. Hopefully, we can all begin to put the nightmare of Lykos' reign behind us.
