A Day of Reckoning for Lloyd Oliver

Today we should learn whether or not Democratic Candidate for District Attorney (maybe) Lloyd Oliver's name will be appearing on the ballot in November.  As noted in the update to my last blog post, Federal Judge Lee Rosenthal remanded Lloyd's lawsuit back to State Court.

A hearing is scheduled this morning at 8:00 a.m. in the 189th District Court -- Judge Bill Burke presiding.  The ruling on the hearing has been promised by this afternoon.

I'm out of county this morning, but I'll try to keep you updated via Twitter if I hear any news.

KTRK is reporting that - absent an appeal - Oliver's name must remain on the ballot.

The Dems should be stuck with the choice of their uninformed voters.

Good ol' Bill Burke. If he was awake, and not overly grumpy, then he will have followed the law.

Rage

Saw the loser Hooper in the ktrk coverage. Looks like he has hitched his wagon to Lloyd to save Rachel's bacon. How pathetic.

¡VIVA LLOYD OLIVER! ¡VIVA LA REVOLUCION!

Hooper, just like Pat Lykos, is frantically searching for relevance in the throes of obscurity.

What losers.

I saw Gary Polland having a friendly chat with Lloyd on the corner of Congress and San Jacinto yesterday. I guess the snake was doing his part to encourage the buffoon.

I agree!

Well, it´s my humble opinion that even if Oliver stays on the ticket, democrats will not vote for him either. The party made it well known that he´s not their choice for whatever lame reason they came up with. To me, it just makes the case easier for Mike Anderson. But, what do I know?

Anon 7:36: what the party made known, like Lloyd said, is that they don't know the law :)

Richard Murray at U of H has off the record predicted a close election because of all the Oliver publicity.Voters like underdogs

Anon: 2:43 So Don, does Dr. Murray often whisper sweet nothings in your ear? What does Rachel say about that? Dems are publicly saying with Oliver on ticket they will raise very little money for the County Party.

Party bosses have little if any respect for the voters or members of their party. It showed when they tried to remove a duly elected primary winner from the ballot astonishingly without success even though the law was not on their side. On the national level it showed in both parties' conventions when they were taking 2/3 voice votes that were clearly not 2/3 ayes were objected to. The teleprompters at both events showed the outcome scripted results of the voice vote before it ever occurred and it contradicted reality but carried the day anyway. Too many people will steal your power if you let them. I do not support Lloyd but I'm glad he told those "goobers" to back up. And it looks like there is now evidence that they were goobers who did not know the law.

Damn those high handed Democratic party elitist bosses.

Democrats tried to remove a clearly incompetent candidate chosen by the voters and they are bad people. Republicans pass voter ID laws aimed at denying voting rights to poor, elderly and students and they are American heroes. Remember they have admitted there is no evidence of wide spread voter fraud and they have stated it was done to insure a Romney victory. Go figure.
