Your 2nd Motivational Reminder to Early Vote

To my friends who are Police Officers and Deputies,

One thing that is unquestioned in the self-imposed duties of the elected District Attorney is that he or she handle all Capital Murder charges where a member of law enforcement has been killed.  Previous District Attorneys like Carol Vance, Johnny Holmes, and yes, even Chuck Rosenthal would drop whatever they were doing and go immediately to the crime scene or hospital when an officer was shot.  They attended the funerals.  Most importantly, they tried the case themselves.

Pat Lykos, despite being a former police officer, has done none of those things as District Attorney that I'm aware of.

The disconnect and disrespect that Lykos and her upper-echelon advisors have had with Law Enforcement has been shameful and it is no wonder that the Police Unions issued a vote of No Confidence in her.  Her lack of interest in the Men and Women of the Police Agencies across Harris County is appalling.  Her characterizing Police Unions as if they were "teamsters" adds insult to injury.

Judge Mike Anderson's respect for Law Enforcement is well established.  Actually, the first time I ever had a lengthy conversation with Judge Anderson was when he was kind enough to give me a ride to the funeral of Harris County Sheriff's Homicide Detective Jim Hoffman.  Jim had passed away after a long battle with cancer and it certainly wasn't a publicity event.  Judge Anderson's attendance was a sign of respect that was genuine and sincere.

The Police Union's vote of No Confidence in Pat Lykos was well-deserved, but it loses its power if the men and women of the Union don't follow it up by getting to the polls and actually voting.

There are Early Voting locations all over the county, including the Administration Building Downtown.  Last I looked, there was reserved street parking for law enforcement.  Please take the time out to go vote.  It takes less than fifteen minutes.

As citizens, you deserve better representation from your District Attorney's Office.

And as Law Enforcement Officers, you damn sure deserve its respect.

As an HPD officer, I absolutely agree. I've secured at least 5 voters who weren't going to vote, and I'm reminding every single person I can and trying to get to 25.

I remember all those past D.A.'s and yes they did attend our fallen Brothers funerals. I have not seen nor heard of our present District Attorney following their example. I cast my vote on Monday afternoon and when it came to casting my vote for D.A. Mike Anderson got mine. He is hands down the best choice for D.A. in Harris Country. I only hope my fellow officers also agree and vote similarly.

The HPD officer who just got a NG will be casting his vote for Pat Lykos!

@QX Troll. Interesting, hadn't thought of that, especially with the timing! Maybe HPD will like her now?

I assumed HPD hated Her Majesty as much as I did, but I hadn't been following this one. Especially the part where Little Jimmy just couldn't find the felony forms or something. I mean what was all that about? Timing is very good for Patsy indeed.

Just got home to find Lykos' negative mailer in response to Anderson's negative mailer I received last Friday.

This whole dirty DA race thing is pretty disgusting on both sides and I have decided not to participate. It doesn't really matter considering how far ahead in the polls Mike is and I want to vote for someone not against someone.

The reason Lykos ordered that no evaluations were to be done at the end of last year was so that they could be done immediately post primary. That way she can have FRESH performance evals done to justify all the firings she wants. The Evans will be written to reflect poorly on those to be terminated. Just wait and see.

Anon 1:32,

If Little Jimmy would've listened to his sweet wife Michelle the Troll would be jacking with people in Chappel Hill instead of Harris County.
What goes around is coming around for Wee Man Leitner and he will rue the day he aligned himself with Pat Lykos.
Exit polls show Mike with an almost 2:1 lead rendering Leitner's private practice prospects in criminal defense work not at all promising.
The Golden Rule won't be a Golden Parachute will it Jimbo?

I'm a HPD officer and I cast my vote on Monday. I skipped all the other candidates and went right to District Attorney race. I put in Mike Anderson just to make sure I didn't mess something up. I then went back and voted in the rest of the races. I have been telling everyone who will listen to go and vote for Mike.

I can not believe that Big Jolly used a very little known blog which endorsed Jim Barr to try and add credibility to Jolly’s own slate. That blog Rhyme’s With Right endorsement calls in question the integrity of all of its endorsements as well its author’s opinions in general.

James Barr, was previously a judge but he was removed from the 337th District Court bench in 1998 for judicial misconduct. The Texas Supreme Court tribunal hearing his removal action found that, among other things, Jim Barr “through sexual comments and gestures, violated the constitution of the State of Texas and the Texas Code of Judicial Conduct” and that his actions “were clearly inconsistent with the proper performance of his duties, cast public discredit upon the judiciary of the State of Texas as well as on the administration of justice and thus are likewise violative of Article V, Section 1-a(6)A of the Texas Constitution”. The citizens of Harris County deserve better.

HELP GET THE WORD OUT THAT RENEE MAGEE IS THE KEY TO RESTORING INTEGRITY AND JUSTICE TO THE COURT HOUSE!!!!!

This "Rhyme's" blog also endorsed Lana Shadwick. The same Lana Shadwick who has been investigated for bribery and who has taken appointments from Democrat Bob Lanier while claiming to be an upstanding Republican. She is an indictment waiting to happen.

Don't get too confident about this primary. Mike, Joe, Kristin, Renee, and Ryan will only win if we all vote and get all our family and friends to vote for them.

I pushed three more signs into yards near me (with permission, of course), two more bumper stickers on cars, and five people committed to me to vote for Anderson today. Don't stop pushing folks...we're going to need every last one of those votes!!!

Anon 4:02. I have been to polls and have seen NO exit polling. Don't fall for it people! Get everyone out to vote for Mike during early vote and on election day!

Remember what happened in 2008 when people thought they didn't need to vote? Don't get complacent.

Question from a non-attorney: If Mike Anderson is elected, can he prosecute Rachael Palmer for anything he finds regarding, BatVanGate, improper use of DPS records, etc... or does that all die when the grand jury ends? Where does her immunity end, or does it?

Anon 10:13,

Well you obviously haven't spent much time at the Harris County Precinct Three Tracy Gee 3599 Westcenter Drive Houston location. That loocation's exit poll had Mike at 62% when the polls closed yesterday. Other sites are ranging any where from 56% to as high as 68% in Kingwood all in favor of Mike. The troll is out and your hard work has paid off so take a chill pill we're winning this thing handidly.

NO TAKING A CHILL PILL! There's a loooong way to go here and we want every possible vote! Go vote early and take someone with you.

Non lawyer-the answer is a question. If there is criminal conduct then it depends on whether it is a misdemeanor or a felony and what kind of felony. There are statute of limitations that will apply so your question is kind of hard to answer. Of course that applies to any misconduct under the Lykos administration.

I have been working the polls and have not seen anybody taking exit polls. I am encouraged by what I have seen but take nothing for granted. Lykos knows she has a set number of votes she can count on and will try to suppress Mike voters. Also there are a number of voters who have a single race they are interested in voting on or who don't know anything about the DA's race. These voters will vote for Mike if you talk to them and tell them about Mike. This race is not over until the last vote has been counted so call your friends, talk to strangers. I have been doing that since Lykos took office.

DA pro tem is a fraud! Get off your tails and go vote. "Handidly" my ass!

I just finished up working the Tracy gee early voting location today. There was no one taking an exit poll. Stopped two neighbors as I drove into neighborhood just now. Before I got my window both said, "we know. Mike Anderson.". Keep bugging yur neighbors friends family members.

I also have been working early voting and have seen no exit polling being done.

Campaigning for a down ballot race at the polls during a primary really makes a difference. Many people come in not knowing who to vote for in those races. Everyone who doesn't have to worry about losing their job needs to volunteer to campaign at a polling location at least half a day during early voting and all day on primary day, May 29th. Go to the website or call and volunteer.
