After sharing more false reports and wrong information than Brian Wice at a Vegas Sports Book, it appears that Jim Leitner has finally left his post as First Assistant at the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
According to multiple reliable sources, Leitner worked his last actual day at the Office earlier this week and is taking today and Friday off. His "official" last day is Friday.
Now, knowing how much Jim loves to read this blog, he may very well go reapply for his position just to spite me.
Or there may be a lot of D.A.'s who will be getting to see their former supervisor across the bench from them in court on Monday morning.
He joins John Barnhill, Steve Morris, Don McWilliams, Carl Hobbs, Angela Salazar, and Joni Vollman as yet another top Lykos Administration Official making their departure as her tenure comes to a close.
An insider's view of what is really happening in the Harris County Criminal Courts

Good riddance. Hopefully he can hire on with DeGuerin and they can manipulate depositions together. There are a lot of "shot dogs in closets" that need justice.

What do you think a deposition is for?
Rage
Rage,
I actually would like to know your recommendations on the Civil Benches.
Off-topic: I love the Brian Wice dig at the beginning of this post. You must be hanging out with him to get in a sound-bite that's about as good as his!
Leitner will be missed almost as much a Lykos will be.
I sent them. Feel free to print the list, but not the editorial comments.

Perhaps he has gotten all he needs to continue on with the Templeton matter and will exit quietly now.
Good bye, sir and please don't let the door hit you on the way out. Your work here has been neither helpful nor productive.
Laugh at Brian Wice if you want, but he gave me one of my fondest memories at HPD.
He was a judge in ,municipal court. I was testifying in a FTCS Accident ticket. When Judge Wice asked the defendant how he pled, the defendant exclaimed," I'm not making a plea in this kangaroo court!"
Wice repled," I'll take that as a plea of guilt. I assess you the maximum fine of $150 plus court costs for a total of $209. Do you have any other comments, but before you say anything, I remind you that I have the authority to hold you in contempt of court and place you in jail for up to three days."
The defendant replied, "No, your honor."
Judge Wice told him to have a seat and tha the clerk would call him up when his paperwork was ready. Judge Wice gave me a wink, and I went about my business.
I love reading Jimmy and Joni are leaving over and over and over again. The citizens of this great county should be dancing in the streets. Two rats down. The big one to go.
Jim Leitner had finally found a place where he could do a minimal amount of harm to society. Now, he will be helping with prosecutions as a court appointed defense attorney again.
Anon 6:08 p.m.,
I'm not laughing at Brian Wice. I'm just teasing him about his sports analogies.

The Big One is not a rat. She's a nutria who thinks she's a mink.
More like a ferret.
Gossip, judgment, and labeling are flat out wrong and do real damage. Focusing on love and forgiveness might give some people more peace. That is contageous .
