It bothers me to see the commercials implying Judge Fine was swept into office in a democratic sweep....they dang well know if you have a D or R behind your name doesn't matter for a judge and isn't a Republican sweep exactly what they are asking for themselves? Judge Fine isn't even running, get off that horse and ride your own accomplishments into office.

What? You think he wasn't? The 2008 sweep was obvious, and has changed the way I try many cases in Harris County. There are some good Democratic judges in the civil courthouse, but there are some of the worst judges in the state over there with a D behind their name.

False. One of the most false things I've seen on this blog. Except for one judge, Democrats in the civil courthouse directly affect the outcome of a case. Some just give plaintiffs a little leeway, some shatter the rules for a plaintiff's benefit.

and isn't a Republican sweep exactly what they are asking for themselves?

Of course.

Judge Fine isn't even running, get off that horse and ride your own accomplishments into office.

But he's the poster child for politics effecting outcomes in the courthouse. At least for a Democrat in the CJC. He has similar counterparts in the civil building that have no business being a lawyer, let alone a judge.

I agree he was swept in to office by straight ticket voters. They're using that fact in a commercial to try to get support for themselves says they want people to straight ticket them in to office. Bottom line, if straight ticket voting is wrong, its wrong period. I don't know much about the civil court house, but I'd like to find good input on which judges on the ballot over there deserve a vote because I don't do straight ticket voting.

Judge Fine had an agenda? Every judge has an agenda. Some didn't like him because his agenda didn't match theres. He was still far more gracious than most judges.

And even though he resigned the Republican Party still uses attack ads featuring him because he had the audacity to almost let there be a true hearing to examine whether Texas has executed an innocent man. The CCA killed that.

I hope all the people who left the DAO when the witch came in will go back to the DAO. With rats jumping off the sinking ship there will be plenty of openings

Besides, lets be honest. A lot of our ex -Das , are " default defense lawyers" at best.

Murray, I like Mike Anderson. But He has cattered to the Cops & Tea Party enough. If he wants defense lawyer support & Demo support maybe he should talk to us. Either way, Mike has integrity and I think he will be a fine DA.
