There will be big doings tomorrow in the CJC World.
Quannel X will be leading a group of protestors to march upon the CJC and demand the resignation of . . . well, everybody. It's going to be bad weather, so bring an umbrella.
Chuck Rosenthal will be appearing in Federal Court to answer charges of contempt, levelled against him by Lloyd Kelley. It's a little bit amusing to me that the day Quannel comes knocking on the door that Chuck won't be home, but oh well. It's not like Quannel was looking for a real dialog on the situation. And Chuck certainly isn't either.
Tomorrow is going to be a bad day for the D.A.'s Office, any way you look at it. They are going to be bashed by protestors in front of the building, while Chuck is having all of their reputations bashed in Federal court.
Lisa Falkenberg, Rick Casey, and Alan Bernstein must be thanking their lucky stars for such a day as tomorrow.
For all those ADAs out there, who are trying to do the right thing, day in and day out, keep your heads held high. You know the job that you do is important, and you know that you do it for the right reasons.
Nobody can take that away from you.
Not Quannel X.
And not even Chuck Rosenthal.

I so hope that it rains like a big dog infact, I am going to pray for it! And to the ADA's out there , for those I call friend and those I've never met, hold your head high. Character is not revealed in victory but in adversity. I am an optimist and instead of dreading 1-31-08, embrace it as an opportunity to show what you are made of! For those that are going to be protesting, it is their desire to ruin your day and make you feel uncomfortable. Wear the day, own it, spin it back in your favor and when the 5 o'clock whistle blows walk out with a smile on your face and an attitude of not that you worked around the distraction but an attitude of knowing you gave the citizens of Harris County a quality day at your professional best. That's what it's really all about! Not what's going on outside , on the sidewalk in the rain. ~JAGJO
Hello, I'm Kese Smith, Assistant News Director, KHCW-TV (Channel 39). I've been reading your blog for the past two weeks. Just wanted you to know that in addition to the day's Rosenthal coverage we'll be running a one-on-one interview with Kelly Siegler tonight. She responds directly to Quanell X and charges of racism directed at her husband.
Not much of a protest -- I was down at the CJC for most of the morning, and saw nothing.
Thanks for chiming in with an update,Mark. I've had a busy day and not much time to get the scoop but from the few emails I've read, the sentiment is the same....So, any thoughts why didn't it pan out? BTW - you looked pretty spiffy on 13 yesterday! New suit?

Mr. Smith,
Thank you for reading the blog, and thank you for posting. I'm glad y'all gave Kelly a chance to speak on the issues of Quannel and his assertions during his protest. I'd truly appreciate it if you posted your thoughts whenever you had the chance.
And Mr. Smith, does Channel 39 have a corresponding news website? I've looked for one in the past and never been able to find one.
Sorry for taking so long to repy. Yes, we have a website: www.khcw.com. The piece on Siegler is the on the third page of the video. Sherry Williams also did a longer format interview with Siegler on the Conversation (also posted on the web). I'm not trying to do a plug- In the future, I'd be happy to privately email you if this kind of stuff comes up. Just thought you'd want to know and do with it what you will.
As for thoughts, I have plenty. Unfortunately, they're of the have a conversation over a beer (or beverage of your choice) variety.
Thanks for the blog. It's a great daily read.
